FAQs
What is the primary function of the WATTS Series 957 Reduced Pressure Zone Assembly?
This 8 inch backflow preventer is designed to protect potable water systems from contamination due to reverse flow caused by backpressure or backsiphonage, particularly in health hazard applications.
What materials are used for the main housing and check valve components?
The housing and sleeve are constructed from 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel. The check discs are made of replaceable elastomer rubber, and test cocks feature a Lead Free* bronze body.
How does the integrated flood sensor function?
The assembly includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology that detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate communication and alert capabilities, an add-on sensor connection kit is required.
What are the compatibility options for the flood sensor's alerts?
With an add-on connection kit, the flood sensor can integrate with Building Management Systems (BMS), cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor for BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.
What are the key operating specifications for this backflow preventer?
