Flood Sensor Connectivity
- An add-on connection kit is required to activate the integrated flood sensor's alert functions.
- Connection kit options include those for BMS (Building Management Systems), cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS (Building Automation Systems) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.
- Without a connection kit, the flood sensor remains a passive component and does not communicate with other devices.
End Connections
- This 8 inch backflow preventer features end connections compliant to ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange standards.

Additional Details
This 8 inch FEBCO MasterSeries® LF886V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector backflow preventer assembly is designed for high hazard and toxic applications in potable drinking water systems. It protects against both backpressure and backsiphonage conditions, commonly found in industrial installations, and is supplied without shutoff valves.
Product Details
- This assembly features a ductile iron body with replaceable stainless steel check seats, a cubic feet per minute (CFM) metered bypass, and ball valve test cocks.
- The design includes a stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability, yielding greater dependability and extended valve life.
- Inline serviceable assembly requires no special tools.
- Features a modular and repairable pressure differential relief valve and a captured O-ring design.
- The bypass line is designed to detect potential underground water leaks and unauthorized water usage.
Corrosion Protection
- The ductile iron body is fused with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy coating system.
- ArmorTek is engineered to limit both microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate from electrochemical corrosion.
Flood Detection
- An integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
- When paired with an add-on connection kit, the sensor activates to relay alerts (call, email, text) to notify personnel about potential flooding events.
- An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device.
Important Notices
- Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.
- Watts® is not responsible for the failure of alerts due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation.

FAQs
What is the primary function of this 8 inch backflow preventer?
This 8 inch FEBCO LF886V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination due to high hazard (toxic) fluids caused by backpressure and backsiphonage conditions, commonly found in industrial applications.
Is this backflow preventer assembly lead-free?
Yes, this MasterSeries LF886V model features Lead Free construction, meaning the wetted surface of the product that contacts consumable water contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight, complying with low lead installation requirements.
What type of corrosion protection does this assembly have?
The backflow preventer's ductile iron body is coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system. This coating is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates from electrochemical corrosion, enhancing durability.
Does this particular assembly include shutoff valves?
No, this specific model (LF886V-LG-CFM-FS) is supplied without shutoff valves. If shutoff valves are required, a different configuration of the LF886V series would be necessary.
How does the integrated flood sensor work?
The flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate its alert capabilities (call, email, text), an add-on connection kit is required, which enables communication for potential flooding notifications.
