Description

This 8-inch FEBCO MasterSeries® LF886W reduced pressure detector backflow preventer assembly protects potable water systems from high hazard (toxic) fluids in industrial and commercial applications. Engineered for backpressure and backsiphonage protection, it features a longer N-pattern lay-length for direct drop-in replacement. The durable ductile iron body, coated with ArmorTek® for corrosion resistance, includes stainless steel check components and a relief valve seat. A cubic feet per minute (CFM) metered bypass detects leaks, and the integrated SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor provides alerts for excessive relief valve discharge when paired with a connection kit.

FAQs

What type of backflow protection does this assembly offer?

This MasterSeries® LF886W/WZ provides protection against both backpressure and backsiphonage conditions, specifically for high hazard (toxic) applications in accordance with Local Governing Water Utility Codes.

Can this backflow preventer be used as a replacement for other brands?

Yes, it is designed for drop-in replacement of competitor's valves, particularly those with an N-pattern lay-length, making it easier to upgrade existing systems.

What is ArmorTek® coating, and why is it important?

ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the ductile iron components. It's engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal surfaces, extending the product's lifespan.

How does the SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor work?

The flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When an add-on connection kit is installed, it relays a signal that triggers a multichannel alert (call, email, text) to notify personnel about potential flooding.

What is the bypass meter's function?

The auxiliary bypass line includes a 5/8 inch x 3/4 inch water meter that measures flow in cubic feet per minute (CFM). This meter is designed to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage within the system.
